Betsy is a 16 month old female Boxer who is coming in to have an ovariohysterectomy
(spey). This will prevent her from coming into season and becoming pregant,
as well as reducing the chance of her acquiring diseases such as mammary
cancer and uterine infection. The following photos show what happens to
her when she stays with us.
Betsy is weighed upon arrival, and is examined by a vet.
She then receives a premedication (an injection) containing a painkiller
and a
sedative. An intravenous catheter is placed into the cephalic
vein in her leg.
