We have four vets, fourregistered veterinary nurses and fourtrainee veterinary nurses here at Peak Vets:
Nurses All our nurses are fully qualified registered veterinary nurses (RVN's) with many years of experience and further training in nutrition and animal behaviour.
Sharon Jenkinson RVN CertSAN Sharon is a friendly nurse who has lived and worked in Sheffield for many years. She has 2 children along with 2 dogs (Robert and Sullivan). Along with Emma, Pam and Katy (see below,) Sharon runs our Nurse Clinics. Sharon has aquired her certificate in Small Animal Nutrition, and is an excellent source of information about the dietary needs of all your pets
Emma Scott RVN DipCABT Emma is also very friendly and originally comes from the wilds of Devon. She has a labrador called Molly and enjoys climbing vertical rock surfaces in the Peak District. Emma has also attained the Diploma in Companion Animal Behavioural Therapy after two years of intensive study into animal behaviour. She is available for behavioural referral consultations. Emma also runs our Nurse Clinics.
Pam Stanwix RVN Pam is a caring nurse who has recently joined us from Hertfordshire. Pam loves to ride her horse, Freddie, through the Peak District, as well as taking her two dogs, Fia and Maisie out for long walks. Along with Emma and Sharon, Pam is available for advice and assistance in our Nurse Clinics.
Katy Lacey BSc(hons) RVN Katy is a dedicated veterinary nurse who has a large range of farm animals at home, and as such, helpfully provides us all with ad lib duck eggs. Katy also runs Nurse Clinics.
Sarah Cutts RVN Sarah has recently passed her nursing exams to become our first veterinary nurse trained at Peak Vets. Sarah is an excellent cake baker and has a cat called Stanley.
Trainee Nurses
Emma Seaton Emma is in her first year of training to become a qualified nurse, and combines studying at college with work based learning at the practice.
Nicole Shorto Nicole is in her second year of nurse training, splitting her time between lectures at the College of Animal Welfare, and the practice.
Helen Morley Helen has started her first year of veterinary nurse training. She attends lectures at the College of Animal Welfare and undertakes practical studies with us at the practice. Helen has an old horse called Badger.
Amy Stevenson Amy is about to enter veterinary nurse training. Amy has two dogs and a cat.
Vets Dr Greg J. Firth BVetMed CertVOphthal. PhD MRCVS Dr Firth is married with two young sons, a cat and a horse. He enjoys walking up the high mountains of the country. Greg has undertaken further study in ophthalmology, acquiring both a Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology and a PhD. He also has a special interest in all aspects of surgery.
Mr Steven J. Goodear BVSc MRCVS Mr Goodear is married with a young son, two dogs (Rosie (pictured right with her Benny Banana) and Millie), two cats (Albus and Percy) and two horses (Bertie and Tamon). Steven has a particular interest in internal medicine.
Mr Nigel S Smallwood BVM&S MRCVS Mr Smallwood comes from Dumfries and Galloway and has previously worked in veterinary practice in Stirling. He has a feline companion called Pamela who enjoys running up and down the stairs in the middle of the night.
Miss Cathy Wragg BVM&S MRCVS Miss Wragg is a friendly and experienced vet who is currently undertaking further study towards the Certificate in Veterinary cardiology. She has two friendly cats at home. |
