The liquid is rapidly absorbed and can cause severe kidney damage. In one study involving 25 cases, 96% of those affected by antifreeze sadly died. Make sure your cats have access to fresh water, and don\u2019t allow dogs to drink from puddles where cars may have parked.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-738 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.peakvets.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Email-5.jpg\" alt=\"Black dog on lead with family in fields\" width=\"347\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.peakvets.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Email-5.jpg 347w, https:\/\/www.peakvets.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Email-5-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 347px) 100vw, 347px\" \/><br \/>\nBlue-green algae<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blue-green algae is mainly present from late spring to early autumn and looks like a blue-green layer on the water.
