The team at Peak Vets in Derbyshire are\u00a0encouraging clients and staff to become bee-friendly and help boost the environment.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eco-conscious staff at Peak Vets in Sheffield, have created a bee-friendly garden of wild flowers and poppies at the front of the popular primary care practice.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The reception area, which is always a hive of activity, has also been decked out with bee-friendly banners and bunting to help create a real buzz among staff and clients.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vet nurse Bethany Allen <\/span>is Queen Bee of the Peak Vets\u2019 sustainability project and said: \u201cOur <\/span>new bee-friendly garden has been created in a plot on the front of the practice which used to be hedging.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe hedge has now been removed and replaced with lots of different bee-friendly <\/span>plants<\/span>. We have planted wildflower seeds and some poppy seeds, which are now growing, and put in some larger adult plants.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been a real team effort. Everyone has also drawn a bee and flower for our bunting in reception,\u202fso this got the whole practice involved in the display which demonstrates why it is so important to be bee-friendly.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all part of our commitment to the Investors in the Environment (iiE) scheme, an eco-friendly, national initiative to cut waste, emissions and protect our environment.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it\u2019s a good cause and it\u2019s also been great fun. We can\u2019t wait to see what our garden will look like\u202fwhen all our wildflowers and poppies bloom next year.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
